Hip Hamburg Awaits

Hamburg is well known for its world class events, conferences and meetings in the maritime, design, music, aviation, tech and finance industries but when you pull into this port city you also experience a perfect storm of creative, artistic and design-driven influences that will wow!

Design & Art Centric Gatherings

Home to the urban design area of HafenCity – which includes the soon to open Elbe Philharmonic Hall – Hamburg is a great place to get artistic and innovative minds together.

Designxport located in HafenCity, is a fascinating place open daily to creators that is part art & design exhibit space, part research center and part inspiration and learning spot. Workshops, networking events and learning sessions – especially for art and design driven delegates – take place there for up to 200 people.

Music Strikes a Chord

On the acoustic side of cool, Hamburg has had a love affair with music for centuries with everyone from Brahms to the Beatles finding and sharing their creative voices there.

Today Hamburg is home to the Reeperbahn Festival, Europe’s B2B platform for the music and digital industry. This annual September happening features hundreds of individual events and performances across the Reeperbahn/St. Pauli district and is attended by 4,400 professionals and media representatives. As part of the Festival, music entrepreneurs “jam” with international investors through the Music Worx incubator and funding program to promote new business ideas.

Held in conjunction with the Reeperbahn Festival, the NEXT Conference, is a digital and pop culture show- sometimes referred to as the European SXSW.

Hotels with a Twist

When it comes to delegates hanging their hats, Hamburg hotel options are no less outside the box. From single and double rooms to bunk bed hangs, the Superbude St. Georg and St. Pauli properties offer everything from in-house cinemas and Kitchen Clubs to a Rockstar Suite featuring Bose surround sound and a PlayStation. 25hour Hotels, founded in Hamburg, has three properties in town– Altes Hafennamt, Hafencity, and Number One – each featuring one-of-a-kind design vibes from shipping container grit and exposed brick to understated disco ball glam.

Districts Offer Funky R&R for Post-Biz

Finally, when business wraps there are several areas in the city where delegates can live as the locals do, stroll, shop, eat, enjoy music and indulge in street poetry. The “Karoviertel” is home to the fashion district with its studios and store fronts boasting local designs. Just around the corner from that is “Schanzenviertel” a revitalized working-class neighborhood that has a retro, hipster feel, and the “Eppendorf“ district offers an upscale, trendy haven for visitors.
