And in Hamburg, this congress broke all records: Over 13,000 guests, around 4,000 visitors on Public Day, 400 exhibitors from all continents on almost 40,000 m\u00b2 of exhibition space. With this congress, Hamburg ranks right at the top, because the ITS World Congress has never seen so many participants as in Hamburg in its 35-year history. As Hamburgers, this naturally makes us a little proud. One that is currently occupying many metropolises worldwide: Traffic and mobility. Dr Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, says: \u201cThe high number of visitors confirms the interest in the topics of the ITS World Congress. It has shown how mobility can become more efficient, more comfortable and more climate-friendly in the future. Because that is one of the other exciting points of the ITS World Congress: the congress leaves, but the projects, the knowledge and the ambitions remain in the city \u2013 and not least have a long-term effect on the quality of life and stay in Hamburg. Dr. Anjes Tjarks, Senator for Transport and Mobility Change, also emphasises this: \u201cAn ITS Congress that breaks all records in the middle of the pandemic and causes a sensation internationally \u2013 no one could have expected this and it is a great testimony to the many people who have worked on the congress over the years. Hamburg is now a fixed point on the map for digital and sustainable mobility. But it is also important to me that many of the things we can marvel at here at the ITS Congress will sustainably improve mobility and people\u2019s lives for many years to come \u2013 be it the digital S-Bahn, autonomous shuttles or intelligent transport systems. That is why it was particularly important for us to offer a Public Day within the ITS Congress for the public. Large congress events can also be held again under the right, strong and secure framework conditions \u2013 in Hamburg.
