Hamburg can do congresses and events. But what else can we do really well? Mobility – and sustainable mobility at that! And even in combination: The Rotary International Convention 2019 – where 26,000 guests travelled to Hamburg for the event – could be implemented completely without shuttle services. This made it the first convention of the service club to be implemented completely with the use of public transport.<\/p>\n

Hamburg has also underpinned its position as a model city for mobility of the future at other conventions. In 2021, Hamburg hosted the ITS World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems. But we don’t want to rummage through old memories, because Hamburg continues to move forward. In 2025 and 2027, the UITP Global Public Transport Summit will take place. This means that the world’s largest public transport congress will be held twice in Hamburg.\n <\/p>\n

The fact that such decisions have been made for Hamburg is also due to the fact that the city is positioning itself strongly with regard to new mobility and is a pioneer of sustainable mobility. A few keywords? Hamburg is working on the \u201cHamburg Takt\u201d. This means that every Hamburg resident should be able to find a public transport service from anywhere in the city within 5 minutes. Hamburg is also a model region for mobility. One of the first projects of the \u201cMetropolitan Model Region Mobility\u201d will be to establish a mobility system with up to 10,000 autonomous vehicles by 2030. The overall goal of the project is to develop and build a completely new, digitalised and networked urban mobility system.<\/p>\n
