Around 10 % of all hotels in the Hamburg Metropolitain Region can therefore show sustainable certificates \u2013 be it Green Sign, EMAS, Green Globe, Green Key or Earth Check. In addition, there are numerous hotel businesses that also act sustainably without a certificate and orient themselves to high standards of sustainable action. The home of our second division club FC St. Pauli \u2013 the\u00a0Millerntor-Stadion<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 provides a small foretaste. MICE planners can hold events there, where at the weekend \u2013 depending on the course of the season \u2013 either promotion to the first Bundesliga is played for or all means are used to fight against relegation to the third league. There are two \u201cballrooms\u201d that can be booked for events of all kinds: In the main stand \u2013 where VIP boxes and the s\u00e9par\u00e9es are located \u2013 and in the south stand, where on match days the team from Hamburg\u2019s neighbourhood is supported with flags and chants for 90 minutes. In addition, the clubhouse is located in the \u201cS\u00fcd\u201d, which can also be rented for events. And what does a football stadium have to do with sustainability? From the big football stage we switch to the concert stage. The\u00a0Markthalle in Hamburg<\/a>\u00a0is an institution. Why? We\u2019ll just name a few bands and stars who got music fans moving in the Markthalle: ACDC, Status Quo, The Ramones, Iggy Pop, The Smiths, The Police, INXS, R.E.M., Guns\u2019n\u2019Roses, Billy Joel, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, OASIS \u2013 the list goes on, but we\u2019ll stick to the following facts: Over 10,000 events in 40 years with over 2 million visitors. We promise: The Markthalle is special and you can breathe music history here. The Markthalle also has its finger on the pulse when it comes to sustainable orientation. The Markthalle is guided by the UN\u2019s 17 sustainability goals, has been Ecoprofit certified since 2017 and GW\u00d6 certified since 2021. Already in 2016, it switched completely to green electricity and since 2022 has achieved climate neutrality through Climate Partner \u2013 retroactively from 2019. And the best thing is: you don\u2019t have to be Noel Gallagher, Angus Young, Sting or Anthony Kiedis to hold your own event in the Markthalle. You can also rent it as a normal event planner for corporate events, trade fairs and congresses.<\/p>\n

This is great news for the new CCH \u2013 Congress Center Hamburg: In the field of revitalization, it is the first and so far the only existing German congress center to receive gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). This is the highest award for sustainability from the DGNB that an existing congress building has received to date.<\/p>\n
